AYC Walleye Tournament Rules

 

  1. Captains limited to AYC members and owners or renters of any AYC facility.
  1. A Captains’ meeting will be held in the Mark Twain lounge at 6:30 a.m. the morning of the tournament.  Registration, collection of entry fee, review of the tournament rules and announcement of the VHF channel to use for communications will be covered.

 

  1. The entry fee is $45.00 per boat.  Entry fee is payable at the captains’ meeting.
  1. Prize money awards will be as follows:

a. $50.00 for the single heaviest Walleye.
b. Three places will be paid based on the five (maximum) heaviest fish as follows:
(1) First place -         50% of remaining balance
(2) Second place -     30% of remaining balance
(3) Third place -        20% of remaining balance

  1. You may use three rods per person up to a maximum of six rods per boat.  You may have more than three people on board; however, you can only have six lines in the water at any one time.

 

  1. Shot gun start in front of the  AYC Ships store at 7:30
  1. Weigh-in will be at 3:00 p.m. sharp at the AYC Clubhouse, next to the gas dock.  Boats will be called for weighing in and all those not responding will be disqualified.

 

  1. You can only weigh-in your five largest walleyes. Please do your sorting prior to  weight in.
  1. All boats must leave and return by water where the tournament is being held.

 

  1. If you feel that present or impending weather conditions pose a threat to you or your crew, you may ask for a refund of your entry fee prior to the tournament start. 
  1. Tournament is valid if one or more fish of legal size are weighed; otherwise, all entry fees will be returned.

 

  1. Participants must abide by and adhere to all State of Michigan fishing rules and regulations.
  1. In all fairness, no charter boats will be allowed in this tournament.
